 CURRICULUM LINKS

Click the curriculum name for a link to learn more about each curriculum. Our goal is to conduct as many hands-on and/or interactive classroom experiences for our students as possible. To that end, there will be some work at home.

Elementary: Science will pre-read the science text at home before class, so you only need one textbook per family unless you want your children to each have a copy in their class. History will mostly be done in class, except for a small amount of pre-reading and presentation/project preparation. Writing will have some work at home. Grammar and vocab work will be done at home and brought to class.

Middle School: In order to have more discussions and activities in class, there will be work at home to be prepared for class. There will be writing work at home. Grammar and vocab work will be done at home. Literature will be read at home in preparation for class activities and discussions.

High School: In order to have more discussions and activities in class, there will be work at home to be prepared for class. There will be writing work at home. Grammar and vocab work will be done at home. Literature will be read at home in preparation for class activities and discussions.

SCIENCE

HISTORY

*BJU American History is the middle school curriculum set. However, leadership has reviewed the material and thinks it will be sufficient for both grade levels. Therefore, families can determine how they will “band” their students together for these classes (as the classes will proceed at different paces, with different supplemental discussions and activities).

-- HIGH SCHOOL ELECTIVES --

The LA Block will be split between an elective and LA, with less in-class time dedicated to writing than for the elementary and middle school blocks. Students are encouraged to continue with Fix It Grammar through Level 5 to reinforce the concepts used in IEW. This would take place at home and not at co-op this year.

KINDERGARTEN

Language Arts: Our Kindergarten students will work with prompting and supporting to interact with literature and informational text. They will ask and answer questions and identify details and main events. Students will know the names of all letters, produce letter sounds, and write letters from memory. They can read common words and draw, tell, and write stories about themselves and their world.
